Allegiance is comprised of five sculptural forms made in one variation from lined notebook paper and, as exhibited here, hardened t-shirts, hung on hand-formed bronze hangers. Textiles in the chest cavity are positioned over the heart but partially concealed from the viewer. As part of a consideration of entrenched beliefs, this work encourages an examination of childhood narratives that continue to linger into adulthood, even after their presence has been all but forgotten.
