Fuzzy Fields
In collaboration with Susan Snipes, 2026
Two collaborative works with Susan Snipes, Field Specimens and Confabulations, were part of the Fuzzy Fields, an exhibit that considered unresolved sites and indeterminate time. For Field Specimens, Snipes’ audio experiments were played on speakers embedded in Zimchek’s soft foam sculptural forms, an installation designed to be touched and held. They further merged their interest in new technology with Confabulations, a five-channel looped video installation visible through small holes in the gallery wall, drawing from the artists’ childhood photographs to create something fantastical and real-adjacent, straining at the boundaries of credulity with freshly fabricated memories.
